Practical Photography
Basics + Microstock
Starting 4 April 2009, every saturday 1:30pm

Do you believe you can learn basic photography and earn some pocket money at the same time?

Practical Photography is a basic course designed for ambitious beginners as well as amateurs aware of the importance of fundamentals for shooting. This course will require you to do lots of hands on practice. The homework assignments and field trips will also help build your own library of sellable images good for microstock buyers.

Join a growing pool of amateurs selling images on microstock portals such as iStockphoto & Shutterstock.
However, not everyone will excel. Only the hardworking ones will be rewarded. Be motivated when you earn as you learn.

8 sessions with a total of 16 hours of intensive lessons with hands-on and field trips to help you achieve the following:

  1. Use your camera effectively
  2. Master the basics of photography
  3. Take good pictures with market value
  4. know what and how to shoot for microstock
  5. Learn how to improve on your own in future
Apart from teaching what makes a good image, we will also help you understand what sells and what don't.

Our syllabus goes beyond the usual theory lessons by focusing on practicals & exercises.
We emphasize on practical field-trips and assignments to make sure you master the right stuff

Disclaimer:
We cannot guarantee your images will be accepted by microstock portals.
Our primary objective is to help students become better photographers. Pls treat the microstock earnings (if you excel) as a bonus, not the primary purpose for participating in this course.

These three images are taken by one of our school's instructors, Wei Li.
It's shot during one field trip and uploaded to shutterstock and iStockphoto in late Feb.

Between 1st March to 14th March, these three images earned a total of USD$4.66 from royalties (just from shutterstock and iStockphoto alone)

it's a good example of the assignments/homework we like our students to do during this course.
It's voluntary so no students will be "forced" to do such shoots.

Our point is that if you do the assignments/homework we recommend, besides putting into practice what you learn, you will also earn some pocket money if the images sell.

Extra motivation for being a diligent student :)

Join us for this course and hear about his experience in mastering the basics of photography and shooting for microstock :)
