Hi all,

Would love to know any good photography/travel locations for Lijiang, Dali, and Chongqing?
Will be going on free and easy, want to really explore and take photos of the places, light hiking/trekking (3-5 hours) is no problem also if the locations need it.

Also is there any particular area or tricks I need to aware that thieves from those 3 places might use?
Usually I'm pretty aware of my surroundings, been to several countries before and walk till late (3-4am), so far been good as I always bring a tripod around for self-defense if needed.

Thanks! :D

Where you should or can go will also depend on the length of stay. Of the three places you mentioned, there are plenty of spots around Lijiang and Dali to keep one occupied for several days already.

depends on what you want to shoot,
i always though lugu lake (half day journey from lijiang) is beautiful and the light there is amazing.

really depends on how many days you intend to go, I personally find lijiang and dali area too fill with tourist, too commercialise. although still worth a visit.
if you have the time, travel up to shangrila, deqin area. go for the yu beng trek and stay at fei lai shi in deqin with the whole view of the mei le snow mountains.

I see I see.

Currently I will be going to 4 days Lijiang + 4 days Dali + 3 days Chongqing.
But Chongqing will be much lesser time, as I will be meeting up friends (locals) over there.
Was thinking of Zhongdian (Shangri-la), but not enough time, and don't think much to see during February?

As of now I will be going to the standard places of interest in Lijiang/Dali, and opting for hiking/trekking route, rather than cable car if possible.

Lijiang

- Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
- Tiger Leaping Gorge
- Old Town
- Black Dragon Pool
- Naxi Concert Hall

Dali

- Erhai
- Three Pagodas
- Cangshan (Think will take a lot of time if going for the best scenery and full hike?)
