Hi i am intending to go for a photography course to learn more abt the technical aspects, lighting and composition....Are there any recommendations on such courses...anyone knows if the laselle cse on intro to art of photography is good?

How abt the Photographic Society of Singapore's course?

Ethan
cheers!!!

I think skills can be obtained thru trial and error and experience... not necessary had to go for a specialised course :D

i also find my skills in photography not too good
but can learn thru trial and error and experience
but maybe only slower compare to a course
yo localhost wanna learn together?

;)

I am also for the trial and error method. Classroom learning, while efficient and less time consuming, in my opinion, does not allow one to discover the "ooh" and "aah" moments oneself, and hence makes the knowledge learned less retainable.

However, I do find that a good reference "textbook" and, more importantly, the availability of a close friend to critique/discuss/flame ideas essential.

Yup, I surf the net for techniques, shoot and shoot till I get it right. Same for learning about PS manipulation. Hard work and practice is all you need, of course must do it the correct way. :p

I always wanted to attend a photography course but didn't have the chance. I pick up most of my know-how from friends, net and here.

Given a chance again. I would attend a course. It teaches you the correct thing and you may find a few kakis there. Thru lecture, note and discussion, I am sure one will improve more.

Sometimes, we will give up after being discouraged by our own work due to "self-learning". In class, someone can guide you in the event you have reached a botttle-neck. :)

I think the Lasalle course is too expensive already , I rather go elsewhere like some photo club and stuff.
