photodetectors vs resolution??

I saw a camera spec which states that the number of photodetectors are 10.3 million. Would like to know if it is equals to 10.3 MP?? Thanks guys in advance for your input!

Yes. It is the same.

pls also look out for effective resolution... it may be lower then the actual resolution of the sensor....although the difference will be very minimal..
