Dear All,

I am all new to ClubSnap so hello every one.

For this first thread, I have in fact several questions.

I live in Cambodia, but I am going to be in Singapore for a few days by next week. Since my husband is creazy on cameras, and I go mad on video and photos here is what I wonder :

1. Where should we go to discover great pictures either international or singaporian ? Any recommendations on Galleries, or maybe photography museum ?

2. I have an old Bell & Howell Super 8 camera, doesn't work anymore. Where could I get it fixed ?

3. What are the good places to have a look at vintage cameras / equipment ?

4. I know that not-finding a good electronic shop in Singapore is more difficult than finding one, but any recommandations on where to buy cheap and good digital cameras accessories ?

5. And last but not least ... Where to develop 24x36 BW films ?

Thanks a lot, and Happy New Year from Phnom Penh !

first off, welcome to clubsnap, please enjoy your stay here.

1. you can try pbase popular galleries if you're talking about online; link here, if you are talking about particular genres, maybe you could go into detail. if you are talking about print, there are no dedicated photography museums per se that i know of in singapore, although there will be exhibitions now and then.

2. you can try the camera workshop, google for address in singapore.

3. sorry, no idea, but ebay is a good place if you can find sellers that ship internationally

4. this is a list of generally ok shops, but please do research before you go, because they will sometimes try to charge you higher than usual:

- orient photo (sim lim square)
- cathay photo (peninsula plaza)
- alan photo (funan, sim lim square) [be very careful]
- john 3:16 (funan)

5. sorry, no idea.

wow....all i can say is:

Hola amgio! welcome to CS.. ;)

Thx a lot for all this !

1. Actually, I was more thinking of 'classical' galleries, the ones who hang on walls printed pictures from good or great photographers, could be private 'art' galleries specialised in photography or public museums. Any idea ?

your closest bet for a "classical" gallery with photography could be STPI . it is mainly a Print museum, but they have great Photographic works in store, if you ask to have a peak. they usually oblige.
or you could randomly try the galleries at MICA building.
We don't have dedicated photography museums/galleries. if you're looking for something contemporary, you could find it at 2902.
