1900 - 2100hrs for session 1, 3 and 5
1630hrs - 1830hrs for session 2

Number of Sessions: 5 Sessions (2hrs each)

Course Requirements

Participants must bring their own camera (DSLR or compact with manual exposure modes). A tripod, while not necessary, will expand your creative options and ensure the best quality images in some of our guided field trips where a tripod is recommended.

We picked the very essentials from our highly successful Practical Photography workshop—while still mindful to balance between classroom learning and outdoor practicals—so that by the end of this workshop, you’ll be proficient to handle your camera and explore photography further.

Detailed Course Outline

Specially catered for the busy person, Practical Photography for Busy People teaches you the fundamentals of good photography in just 5 sessions conducted over 2 weeks— or 15 days to be exact. Adapted from our highly popular Practical Photography workshop, we shorten the workshop from 8 to 2 weeks by teaching theory classes on weekday nights, and shooting during weekend evenings.

We also picked the very essentials from our Practical Photography workshop—while still mindful to balance between classroom learning and outdoor practicals—so that by the end of this workshop, you’ll be proficient to handle your camera and explore photography further.

Choosing effective backgrounds for your subjects

In Practical Photography for Busy People, you’ll spend a total of 4 hours taking photographs, 2 hours working on photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, and another 4 more hours learning about technical and compositional concepts.

By the end of the workshop, you would:

1. be comfortable with handling your camera,
2. know how each shooting mode works, and which one suits your shooting style better,
3. have a strong concept of how aperture and shutter speed works by seeing its effects for yourself on your photos during our guided field trips,
4. know what makes a good photo–and how to improve a bad photo,
5. tackle low-light and flash photography,
6. understand and be able apply of basic and advanced composition techniques,
7. find the most effective backgrounds for your subjects,
8. manage your digital library of images with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom,
9. correct problems in your images using Lightroom,
10. make creative adjustments to your images using Lightroom,
11. follow a good digital workflow to ensure that your prints turn out the way you want them to be,
12. and most importantly, have lots of fun!

We keep our class small (6−8 persons to one instructor) so you can be sure you’ll get individual attention from our instructors.
