hello, its been a while since I've started a bo liao thread.

Can you describe in 1 sentence what is your camera gear acquisition philosophy?

Is it "I want to get the very best" or "only 1.4 and 2.8 for me"

Currently for me it's "light, cheap, reasonable performance" ... trying to get older/cheap primes for my personal use... although there's a voice  that tells me to get lenses with 4 digit price tags.

of course for the pros, the answer would be "as my work dictates".

Any bo liao answers?

gotta catch em all

date them all but only marry those you can afford.

The best way to save money is to simply buy what you really want.

Buy whatever I need to capture what I want to capture; Whatever I don't need, the $ can be better spent elsewhere.

Need over want. :bsmilie:

And I only need my iPhone. :bsmilie:

Buybuybuybuybuybuybuybuy... buy.. buy.. buy... buy...buy ... buy ..... buy.. ...

Buybuybuybuybuybuybuybuy... buy.. buy.. buy... buy...buy ... buy ..... buy.. ...

Need folks like u to drive volume so prices can come down :)

Buy the best forget the rest

(from that particular brand(s) i use)

Buy more if i can afford comfortably.

Let people buy first, touch first, and I buy cheap 1 month later from them!

Buy second hand if possible, the penultimate model (that means NOT the latest model - but the one before that) from second hand shops or friends who take good care of equipment - and only once in a while, so as not to overspend.

"less is more"

Why nobody add - "Ambush solo macro photographer in the forest... and take what you need"... LOL :bsmilie:

use the cheapest-good-enough- to earn the most $$

I get oem lens, no third party.
I try to get latest model first. Mk2. 2012 model, etc.
I get the best lens for the most frequent use focus length.
I buy only when I need.
I sell when I don't need.
