Perseid meteor shower

Hopes are high this year for the coming Perseid meteor shower.
The Perseid meteor shower will be appearing in 2002 from July 17 to August 24 and will peak around August 12, 2002.

A typical hourly rate for the Perseids is 80 although it can go as high as 200.
The expected number of meteors that can be seen within an hour under ideal conditions is 110.

The meteors will appear to come from a point in the constellation of Perseus.

The Moon will be setting during the early evening so anytime from
midnight on will be a good time this year to see the Perseids.

i managed to capture 3 meteors including a brilliant and long one at around 5am till dawn last Sun from my school. How many did u catch?

I did not manage to catch any as the weather was unfavourable.
From press reports, seems like East China had a good glimspe of it.

*sigh* Singapore has been kinda out of luck with the pass few meteo showers with less than desirable weather conditions.

Yeah you're right. Especially the past few leonids which were flops! But last year Dec i caught close to 20 during the Geminids in Pasir Ris Park. A friend of mine counted 54! I set up my camera in B mode in series of 10 min but only managed to capture 1 meteor on film...sigh....
