A big thanks to WK (Edutilos) for doing the sharing session on taking landscapes.
I learned a lot from it, getting to know how another photographer (and one as good as WK) approaches his landscape shooting and workflow.
Too bad about the bad weather, so we could not have a more hands on session, but there will always be more stuff we can share/learn in future outings for many other pentaxians.

Just a few shots from me from the water ski shooting session :

Unfortunately while we were preparing to set up and take the sunrise, it started to rain. Me and fengwei took shelter at one of the chalets balcony and thanks to edutilos for bring the umbrella to us so that we can rejoin the group at CV. After our breakfast we have a short sharing session with edutilos as our guest speaker. It is not a wasteful trip for those who turned up for the outing as i guess everyone picked up some tips from edutilos through the sharing session. After the sharing session and group photos, some of us headed off to Bedok Reservoir to shoot some water ski actions.

Ok, here is my homework from yesterday outing...

Hi... Don't think many people got anything from the morning since I think the strong winds whipped out at about 6.15 am or later... I myself managed one long exposure shot before then when it was remarkably still.. It's been years since I've seen it so still actually. The last time was all the way back in 2007 when I took this shot here and the tree was still there.

Anyways it started drizzling and when those menacing storm clouds started rolling in I guess we knew we were in for it. :bsmilie: I hope the short session was not too boring and I wasn't just seemingly rattling on. :)

Here's the shot I kept.

The calm before the storm.

Reach Changi in the morning and headed straight to the hawker center as I saw Lawrence, Greg and a few others heading there. Luckily, followed them as heavy rain soon follow.
Did not shoot much as it was also drizzling soon after when we reach Bedok.

Some of my humble shots

We arrived at Changi Village 6:30am sharp, dash passed The Last Changi Ah Quah, toward Changi Beach Club,
6:35am a storm start to pick up, strong waves pounding the beach shallows, I did not want to come all the way from Yew Tee and
NOT TAKE ANY SHOTS of the Stormy Sunrise! So,

Edutilos,
Thanks for the sharing session - "Thinking Landscape", it was inspiring for me to want to go back to Changi Point on a fairer weather !Maybe Sunset.
I hope to apply the thought process and improve on my landscape shots, and make use of my variable ND filter bought some time ago.

Cheers !

Some guys in action..or candid maybe...

Good to see you guys again... Landscape photography tutorial is something interesting and thanks to organizer. Our friend Edutilos really had put effort to choose some of his pictures to demonstrate his hard earned techniques, composition and uniqueness about his photography. good job! I believe this type of activities will attract more... Keep up the effort... !

No sunrise...So some of the water skiing photos from me: (little cropping & tonal mapping (Nik HDR Efex Pro) on pics taken with Nikon D90 + Tamron 70-200 f2.8 combo)

It seem it was a great outing after the rain.. Many must have learnt well from our guest speakers who shared their experience in landscape. :)

Sorry, I had miss this one out. Could not even wake up... :p
