Pentax/Ricoh June 2013 outing: Orchard Road on 30 June

Time for our monthly outing.

Date: 30 June 2013
Time: 12pm onwards
Venue: Orchard Road

Meeting up at Weelock place Burger King for lunch and chitchat. Then we go out and take some street photos. If someone wants to share some experiences on how to take better street photos, please do come to the front and share with us

Can we plan for the worst and do a portrait session instead?
Or some sort of indoor event like cosplay, motor show, toy show, etc.....


I've got 2 lightstands, 1 softbox, 1 shoot thru, 1 octobox, 1 bounce, 3 flash, 3 wireless rx, 1 tx. (I'm sure others can chip in too)
Just need to find a place.
Models, we can shoot ourselves, suits, formals, sports attire, halloween mask, etc
Else, I don't mind we get a model, but will need help to get those (maybe from Oceanpriest, poseur or Baracus)
The most everyone just chip in some money.... ($10-20).

my few cents, not trying to detour the planned GR outing in case some ppl misunderstand.....
I can understand than perhaps the distro or GR fans may want the GR outing to happen sooner rather than later...

Help ourselves, rather than wait for the gods (or our friendly ASEAN 'neighbors') to help us out.

Thanks JK for the suggestion, sounds great.

But I think it's better we all just stay at home instead of going out due to the heavy haze. It's a bit too rush to organize a model shoot I think. Maybe next round? As to the outing, I'm thinking of changing the location to Little India instead of Orchard. Next weekend is the last weekend for GSS, I'm guessing Orchard Road would be too crowded.

Welcome back. Good of you to postpone the event in view that the PSI index just hit over 400 now. But unless the Indons take concrete steps, the haze situation will not change until Sep when the NE Monsoon arrives and blow the other way.

I do suggest that we considr a list of indoor events for our Pentax outing for the next 2 months as contingency. At end Aug (31st) , we have the STGCC (Singapore Toy, Gaming and Comics Convention) where there will be alot of Cosplayers there. maybe the Aug outing can be that? Other months we can meet at Museums, Science Centre, etc?

Yeah, I don't mind going there shooting those pretty girls. But won't be fun if everyone wears a mask

Anyway, we got one week to plan. Let's think of something for the next weekend, just before the school starts.
