Just got my K5 few days ago :)
All resize to 1024x678:
Upto ISO 1600, I can say, almost noiseless.
Upto ISO 6400, still not too bad.
ISO 12800, for 4R print shd be fine.
Above ISO 12800, I guess only use for emergency

thanks for the tests! was the in-body NR enabled when you took these shots?

NR set to auto.

I have it set to Auto ATM, but that will soon change once I decide to purchase a good NR program like Topaz Denoise.

I took your photo and applied a default setting, followed by some tweaking (maybe 3min in total).
ISO12800 shot - cleaned up

ISO25600 shot -cleaned up

This one I am a bit lazy to optimize, so there is some NR artifacts, but still, far more usable than original.

Let me know if you want me to take down the photos.

With very good NR program, I would set Custom NR, with ISO12800 and above as NR-off, so that it can get the best treatment with a NR program.
We can then fully utilize the potential of the K5.

Try to use topaz on original size:
ISO 20000, resize

ISO 20000, resize + denoise
