I do think Ricoh means serious business.
A complete overhaul of the internals, while remaining some of the nice features of the K5 series (size; WR; etc)
Very smart use of the SR system to simulate an AA filter (optional).
Certainly a first.

Full HD video (60i).
Something some review sites have always marked down Pentax cameras for the lack of.

200k actuation shutter
8.3fps (fastest on a DSLR)
86k pixel metering (and zone WB )
27 AF points (25 points cross type) (-3Ev sensitivity! )
FLU wireless tethering
Many others (more info in the links)

Looks like the definitive APS-C DSLR at this point of time.

Edit : US body only $1299
Awesome price.
I do hope we get this or better. :)

US 1299 is pretty good for a flagship model price.

Hoping that the 8.5 fps is with Continuous AF on. It is odd that something minor like the mic input would be Mono but since it is a pre-production copy, i am expecting the final release will be tweaked.

2 card mode is a win win situation. :)

It's a feeling of WHERE can we put our order now ? No second thoughts required, except start getting approval from CFO at home.

This K3 silver version, on the Ricoh web looks not plasticky. It would be only 2000 pieces available, n someone posted a photo of version he wanted, K3 neck strap like the one for GR!
Scroll down comments to see the nice silver n strap.

My budget forcast for coming quater had just approved. I just wonder are we able to get the silver set.

as per the GR, it will be priced reasonably vs USA

Excellent camera, isn't it . I'll post my hands-on feelings later ...

Can't wait for your review. Esp interested in the improved AF.

What's the price? When will it be launched in Singapore? And ... is there a new Pentax FF in the horizon. =P

Thanks for the heads up.

Might be too tempting to resist then...... ;p

I didn't want to cut into Fengwei's thread even though this question is probably better asked there.

What is the bottom right button that looks like select AF point? You press it before select AF? If so, that's certainly a good thing, I'm getting tired of pressing OK button and holding it..

<EDIT>

Wow, sure looks to be the case. That's good news.

Just some questions :

1. Does the red button trigger the video recording instantaneously? Or I need to put the switch to video mode then press the red button for video recording?
2. Previously the trash can button is to delete the photo/video. But now its changed to something like for metering purpose. Actually what is it for? The switch on the left top side no longer slide to the 3 metering modes?

Thanks. =)
