Pentax ist DL

Hi guys, new here. Need some advise. Recently purchased a 2nd ist DL. Noticed that each time I replace the batteries, I have to set the time and date, etc. Does this camera comes with another battery source to maintain the date and time (like computer ROM ). Please advise.

Sorry if this question sounds so basic. New to dSLR. I have tried reading the manual but can't fnd anything. Maybe I missed it. PLease help.

If you take out the AA batteries for an overnight, you definitely need to set the time/date again. But if you take out the batteries and replace w/ freshly charged ones right away, it still can't retain the date/time setting, probably means the battery (actually it's more like a big capacity) inside the body (on the mainboard) is damaged and needs to be replaced. It retains basic settings including date/time info.

Better bring the camera to Emjay for a quick service. Good luck.
