Hi all, I am still new to this RAW shooting with K-r and was wondering which is the better format to save in camera PEF or DNG? Also is my current class 4 SDHC fast enough or class 10 is needed. Thanks

i'm shooting DNG

DNG for me too. Just ensure your PP software support whichever format.
I read somewhere that DNG files are slightly bigger, not that it matters much.

I think class 4 is good enough for normal shooting, otherwise get a class 6.

DNG. Btter compatibility. Photoshop supports it directly. It's a more open format.

Bought from Sim Lim best bargain #05 around the corner.
Brand Kingston.

Thanks I am using DNG from now on. I think I can only afford class 4 now if I want to shoot raw for my overseas trips, 16/32GB cards for class 10 is just too ex, just have to try to minimise 6fps shooting

Bro, I just went SLS, Best Bargain is out of stock for the Kingston Class 10 8gb liao. I went searching around and ended up getting a Transcend Class 10 8gb for $29. Will wait for the next IT/PC Show to get another SanDisk Extreme Class 10 8gb..:)

Thanks for the info :)
Seem even cheaper, I guess nowadays any brand also doesn't really matter :)

I prefer PEF, but need to shoot DNG until LR3 supports K-5's PEF.
