I'm a bit curious as to why SIA did not put the passengers into hotels which had empty rooms like the St Regis, Raffles Hotel etc etc:think:

the report stated the hotels were fully filled for the airshow... i wondered how true ? anyway.. the station manager will be the one highly stressed from such incident.

they did not think of many hotel 81s all over

although it is a cheap budget hotel but at least it is comfortable enough to sleep 1-2 nights... better than airport lobby sofa

maybe they had a standard protocol to follow even choosing hotels.

A380 with only 70 passengers??

maybe just delaying tactic to wait for some more passengers :bsmilie::devil:

read the report again:

Given the Singapore Air's second A380 was undergoing maintenance, Mr Forshaw said the flight had to be replaced with a Boeing 747-400.

"Obviously, a 747-400 can't carry as many passengers as an A380, so we've had to transfer around 70 passengers to alternative flights today,'' he confirmed via an email.

i believe there are backup planes, why not use them and not tanish their name?

and i tot there are transit hotels at the terminals? All full ah?

There is only one other A380 and it was undergoing maintenance at that time I believe.

:sticktongThe 747-400 MEGATOP which most passengers were transfered to is actually a backup plane.

The 70 passsengers are spillovers because they could not get into the 747-400.
