would like to know the advantages of wide angle against panaroma as panorama can achieve the same effect as wide angle except it requires more post-processing such as stitching up the photographs.
Thks for any opinion :)

panorama can give you higher resolution outputs by stitching the pics together..

i go fo WA anyday =P

you can't do panorama shot when shooting something thats moving yet wanting to create a dynamic distortion picture.

you can get panoramic images by using
#1, special panoramic cameras, this camera are very expensive,
#2, shoot a single image with any normal camera and crop it to 1:2 to 1:3 panoramic format.
#3, shoot a few images and stitch them using computer software.

each method has it pros and cons, know what you want and choose the method work for you.

Panorama over wide angle
Pro
- Can cover wider angle up to 360 degree
- Unique effect

Con
- need time to setup, thus gear is heavy
- need to capture constant exposure for every shot, so need to calculate average metering
- need skill to capture photos for stitching, avoid moving objects at the corners/sides
- need software and skill to stitch the photos
- more distorted to wide angle lens due to the rotation

Overall Panorama photography is fun and unique but the gears and software are very expensive. In additonal , need skill to capture and stitch the photos.
