Panasonic LX1 or IXUS 800 IS

Has anyone read or done a picture comparison from the 2 cameras? What about the image stabalisation?

Been meaning to down size and have been so very tempted by weekh's post on the LX1 ... but the noise and the low iso ... :sweat:

i am going for the Canon Ixus 800
very impressed with the overall package and usablility

Do note that the LX01 had no viewfinder and its optical zoom is slightly lower. But its lens start from 28 mm.

Just to confuse you further. How about the FujiFilm FinePix F30? Iso 3200. Reviews have been generally very good. Apparently an excellent camera, if only you can get past the xD Picture card.

LX1 quite a reputation for noise.. but apart from that is a good camera..

Think memory cards are less of an issue now with the significant price drops over the last 2 years. They could be treated like proprietary batteries which usually can't be used from brand to brand or model to model.
