paint on hot shoe

halo..
would like to ask some questions about hot shoe on camera,
the thing on the hot shoe there is some paint due to flash mounting,
can i remove it ,and will it affect the performance?

sorie may sound silly to some,but im new so hope u guys can help me out on this.

You mean the original paint peels or paint stain from the flash? Either way, no harm removing it. For paint peels, its very common at least among the Canon cameras. Most users don't bother about it..
