Calling all budding photographers, amateurs and professionals alike!
Its time for sayang sayang! Its time to spread the love of Our Peranakan Heritage through the lens. What better way to do that than to capture the Peranakan spirit in our Joo Chiat Photography Competition organised by the Joo Chiat Youth Executive Committee.
Held in conjunction with The Peranakan Festival, photographers can take shapshots of the Peranakan heritage in the Joo Chiat area. Then write a few words on what they are expressing in these photos. Heres how it works.
Collection of entries start from 1 October to 7 November 2009. The top 30 entries will be selected for exhibition.
Two exhibition periods will be held:
1) The first at SMU from 27 November to 5 December;
2) The second at Joo Chiat CC from 6 December 2009 till 1st Janurary 2010.
Some attractive prizes to be won:
1st Prize: $500 CASH Voucher
2nd Prize: $300 CASH Voucher
3rd Prize: $150 CASH Voucher
2 Merit Prizes: $50 CASH Voucher each
No participation fee is involved. Its Free-of-Charge!!!
Not only is this a fitting avenue to showcase your lensmanship, but it is also a brilliant opportunity to visit and experience the rich and colourful Baba and Nyonya culture in Joo Chiat.
