How is the low light AF capability? Is it -4EV as what what Samsung claims? :)

wow -4EV, I will try Candlelight, how many EV is that?
-4 should be total darkness?

-4EV is the level of A7S low light AF hehe.....this samsung is really something! images from the APS-C sensor look pretty impressive

Able to shoot creepy crawlies under your bed ....-4EV is something like that. :bsmilie:

Tried some shots at the owl enclosure at the bird park yesterday. I can say, AF without the assist light CMI but i still can use the EVF to find focus and peaking...so in that sense...quite impressed but about -EV4...would want to see how they do it.

That's right. The NX1 will have no trouble seeking out the subject in the dark and confirming focus, as long as the AF assist is on. :)

Shot in the Super dark owl enclosure in the Jurong bird park. Since shining the AF assist light will disturb the fowls, I resort to using MF. It worked really well with the focusing peaking.

shot at 1/8, f2.8 at ISO2000 to maintain IQ as much as possible. Shot in RAW, convert to DNG and then do further editing in RAW Therapee.

Was distracted from testing by a pesky issue
Anyway from the High ISO shots you can see that it is clean up to ISO1600, my preference is below ISO3200
but that is pixel peeping at 100%, here you see a shot at ISO3200 full image for Web Sharing

Tonkatsu Curry Udon - Indoor artificial light, no reflector, ISO 3200, 1/30s, F5.6, Shot with a Samsung NX1 and a NX 30mm F2 lens

wow, challenging. So the subject should be on the far side of the room, in the dark?

...there's actually more to it ....like getting into the closet ....hovering under a blanket .... I bet kei chan didn't tell you all about it. :bsmilie:

There is a set of the NX1 at Samsung Vivocity showroom for you to try out. :)

.. the sensor on the NX1 is really something! Pics are crisp with lotsa details ... anyway a friend just buzzed me that qoo10 is selling the (export) body at $1,599?! hmmmm ..
