This is a portrait of Dallas...

1. How is the lighting? Is it too dark? I think it is not sharp....

2. I was hoping to capture the cute, funny moment.

3. I was trying to capture the playful nature of Dallas.

4. I feel lighting is not that good, and focus like not sharp...

I think posture is ok... catch light is there....

Please advice, and how to better handle babies... have a hard time with Dallas who is a year old...

Thanks...

the belly is quite cute.

That orange is "strategically" placed, lol.....
Why choose orange? Why not apple, durian or banana?

Cute, cute

Are you sure you mentioned Durian??

Who would want to use a durian at that strategically place? :p

EEekks, painful if use durian la...pineapple also cannot..

haha durian sounds traditional....why not cactus?

looks perfect to me.
my point of view maybe for a mahjong paper at the background with slightly abit more exposure?
i'm not perfect either so.....just my 2 cent

dallas one cute kid.

I find the picture is nice and agree his belly is cute too!

If the right bottom orange can be removed, it will look much nicer! :)

I was lookin at the picture again... I think if the curtain is touching the white towel, it would have looked better....

What do you think???

I just noticed another point... The orange placed at the strategic point have a label.... :(

Thank you all for your feedback, and will appreciate if there's some more feedback....

So you feel that the back ground is not even enough???

I like this pic generally. However i find the lighting pretty flat. I know its not really worth the effort to setup lights. Maybe window and diffused light can help in this case.

I am thinking....

1. If I crop away the top of the curtain, where the lights come in, will it be better??? It will be more even...

2. I do not have a EX580 MKII and so, I cannot use a slave set up... sigh... I was using single flash only.... If I shoot with a second flash shooting upwards, will it be better????

For baby photography...most photo books would recommend using natural light, or soft bounce flash from ceilng.

I would have cropped the photo tighter, especially to remove the window pane.

I only have a single flash... if use the soft bounce from ceiling... no catch light.....

I think catch light is still important... so might gotta get a EX580 to pair with EX 430...

I guess its the exposed wall and the window lights behind making it weird...
my 2 cents...

I'm not a pro either hahaha
