Zoom is divided into Optical Zoom and Digital.

Thus Optical Zoom is a subset of Zoom.

And wat the difference betwwen the digital and optical zoom?

Optical zoom uses the lens to zoom...Digital zooms uses computer software to extrapolate and zoom.

Quality of digital zoom is usually much lousier than optical zoom.

technically there is zero quality in digital zoom because it does not capture any new information. it "guess" what the new information should be, this is call "extrapolation".

You should take a picture at the max 'analog zoom' and used the PC to perform the 'digital zoom' if need to close-up. The PC have the capabality to give better 'digital zoom' than the camera.
