50mm/1.8D + PK-11A :

What can I do with this? - taking picture of coins/stamp only or can do some others. Anyone can advise?

Sorry about the qn, but read so much in various forum on macro and closeup and thought that this is a cheap way to try out. I am a total newbie in all this thing.

The PK-11A is a 8mm tube. This + the 50mm 1.8 will give you only 8/50X magnification. Do note that all nikon tubes would not allow metering unless you are using a MF or pro-level AF body. Cameras like the F80, F75, D70 etc would not meter with them.

I just purchased a Uniplus 25 tube from cathay photo S$100.00
U can use this to make your 18-70 into a close up lens

bring your coin and a white piece of paper and go
and try it out at CP before you buy.

You need to set to Aperature priority at F10,F11 or F12
(very small) and need a tripod all the time.

I just took a 50c coin with it on 18-70 at F16

Thanks all for info.

I went to kenko site and also saw the 'set of 3' extension rings. Is this a superset of the uniplus 25 tube?

Its just a generic brand of products , ask them to show it
to you.
