Do you guys think thaqt omi-bounce is really useful? it seems to me that it cuts alot of my flash rather than omi-dispersing it. like.... wasting of flash power? :dunno:

Of cause lah, all your flash power is dispersed everywhere instead of focusing on one spot in one direction. But total light output is the same. This is what it is suppose to do, to diffuse the flash for you.

for dslr depending on your flash model, most of the time the recommended is 75 degrees o_O

i use that most of the time though

Anyway, no harm trial and error. Omnibounce will reduce your flash by 2 stops. For me, the angle of tilt is determined by the subject distance and the height of the ceiling, if indoor.

i see.

i have been using beauty dish/ring flash (not for macro) for portrait recently and i find it very good. light is extremely soft yet bright.
