Can someone advice? Thank you.

I meant
which offer better picture quality?
Which offer better value?

I think SP depending on model. Most SP model has Manual Function and talking photo in RAW (SP500 / 310 / 350). Where SP 700 is Point and shoot like the MJU series.

However MJU has all weather function is means the cam is weather seal. Raining day also can use the digital cam.

Thanks all for your input. Thinking of getting the SP-310. It seem to have many function and features to play with. ;)

Ya is a good start with SP-310. Think now the price for this model has went down a lot as compare to couple of month back. :)

What is better, a motorcycle or a minivan? The question is better for what?

It all depends on YOUR needs and wants. For instance many of the Stylus cameras (what you call Mju) are weather resistant while the SP-310 isn't.

Go try out in shops, if you are getting a camera with 3X zoom and 7~8MP, MJU series is noticeably better in terms of built quality (metal vs plastic body), better high res LCD screen, speed of operation, faster shutter lag, weatherproof, etc but no manual functions, no viewfinder, etc. So it really depends on what you are looking for in a camera.

Also, if you can, wait for the MJU 750... it is quite a killer pocket camera... solid metal body available in 4 colours, 5X zoom, ISO1600, CCD shift anti-shake system built in, fantastic 2.5" LCD, etc.
