I haven't used it before, but from what I have read, it is:

-a good value camera, comes with two kit lenses to cover a wide range of shooting needs
-priced well, and the entire package is cheaper than most other DSLRs at its level
-supersonic wave filter really works
-watch the ISO rating...avoid using high ISOs if possible unless you want to deal with high noise levels
