DISCLAIMER: I am only a photography newbie with only less than 1 year of photograph experience and currently only owns a Canon EOS 550D (Entry-Level APSC size sensor). Nevertheless, I will try my best to review this project for iphoneography enthusiasts.

Introduction/Specifications
Taken from the website: "The olloclip is a quick-connect lens solution for the iPhone that includes fisheye, wide-angle and macro lenses in one small, convenient package that easily fits in your pocket. Nestled in the palm of your hand, the olloclip connects to the iPhone within seconds so you’ll be sure to capture the image you want."

Macro Lens: The Macro lens applies roughly a 10X multiplier and allows you to focus the iPhone within 12-15mm of the subject. The Macro lens is cleverly concealed within the olloclip and can be accessed by unscrewing the Wide-Angle lens that is normally attached to it.

Fisheye lens: The Fisheye lens captures approximately a 180 Degree field-of-view and produces some striking images.

Wide-Angle lens: The Wide-Angle lens is great for when you need that extra field of view, approximately double that of the normal iPhone.

How did I come across this product:
I was thinking about DSLR lenses when I though of lenses for smartphones too. I searched the web as usual and found out that they were actually many lenses made available for smartphones. Photojojo offers similar lenses but I came across a kick-starter project called 'Olloclip'. It allowed iPhone 4/S users to clip onto their phones and the optical quality can easily surpassed similar products to its detailed design and manufacturing.

Where to purchase:
I purchased it from eBay because it was sold brand-new at a cheaper price than the retail price off the Olloclip official website. The Olloclip official website is by far the most reliable form of purchase currently due to the various OEMs products and China imitations. I personally bought a fake product off a blog few months ago at $25. Fortunately, it was not a big loss and I learnt my lesson.

I bought it from a reliable seller at around $50 from USA and received my product around 2 weeks later un-touched.

Price:
On the Olloclip official website, it is priced at $69.99 USD.
With shipping: $69.99 + $5/$8 = $74.99/$78.99
Convert to SGD = $94.22/$99.24

However, with some scouting on the eBay section, I'm sure you'll be able to snatch them at a cheaper price.

Unboxing
It came nicely packaged in a box as seen below.

This is the picture of the actual product itself.

It also came with a mini Olloclip pouch and an iPod Touch 4th Generation adapter (can be used on a iPod 4 with this).

Pictures:
(As these pictures were taken at night, the iPhone sensor automatically bumps up the ISO, causing the photos to be not as sharp. I will upload better photos soon. The pictures for the fisheye and wide angle are also taken with a Gomite Tiltpod for stability.)

As you can see, there is obvious vignetting for the effect but it can be cropped out using iPhone apps to show to circular effect.

As you can see from the above pictures, the wide-angle lens give a wider view than the normal iPhone lens.

This is the letter A from the keyboard. It is impossible to take this picture with the normal iPhone lens. Try it out!

Another picture of a calculator.

As seen from the above pictures, this accessory gives the iPhone macro capabilities to even up to 1cm close, maximising the potential of the iPhone's 8 megapixel sensor.

Another feature I realised is that since this lens can only take macro pictures, it cannot focus to infinity, hence it will be Out-Of-Focus when taking landscape pictures. Here is the bokeh produced from this lens. I have yet to test out fully but here is just a quick snap.

Conclusion

The Olloclip 3-In-One iPhone Photo Lens is indeed an awesome accessory for the iPhone as told by other reviews. Here are the pros and cons of the Olloclip.

Pros
  • Portable
  • Lightweight
  • Small
  • Extends the limit of a normal iPhone camera
  • Relatively cheap
  • Does not degrade IQ much
  • Gives iPhone pictures a new perspective
  • It's a 3 IN 1!

Cons
  • Lens caps are not easy to fit at times
  • Wide angle lens may easily drop (due to its size) when unscrewing
  • CAN ONLY FIT ON A BARE IPHONE
  • May not be able to fit on some phones with thick screen protector (I had to remove my back protector)
  • Vignetting on fisheye lens
  • Lock button/Flash blocked by lens

Overall: 8.5/10
Definitely a must-buy if you are a iPhone user interested in iPhoneography or street photography with your smart phone!

PS: Please feel free to contact me or reply on this thread if you have any queries about this lens!

Update of images with macro pictures. Got to be my favourite lens out of the three.
