In the tradition of Offstone's PIO spirit

here's a new seasons of Studio PIOs.

Date: 23 September, coming tuesday
Time: 7pm - 10pm/11pm
Where: ICONIX studio, 37A Mosque Street. 3 mins walk from Chinatown MRT
Fees: S$20 per photographer
Class size: around 10 photographers.

What's up?
Lance Lee will be conducting a studio PIO where photographers will try their own studio lightings and photograph a professional model from Phantom Model Agency. Participants are encouraged to be creative and set up their own lightings. Lance will guide and suggest different ways of lightings.

While the more experienced photographers can go ahead to style the lightings, the beginners can observe and learn on the spot.

Participants can also take turns to shoot with a Fujifilm S2 Pro camera (digital) and learn how to use a medium format camera, Mamiya 645, with B/W polarids

Who's the model?
Edina Cheah, professional model from Phantom Models
Find out more about her here

Cost breakdown:
Of the S$200 collected....(S$20 ea from 10 photographers)
1. S$40 goes to the model as allowances (transport + printing of portfolio)
2. S$60 goes to Rickson, ICONIX studio manager for rental of studio
3. S$40 goes to equipment rental (Mamiya 645, S2 Pro etc)
4. S$20 goes to makeup (will be elaborated soon)
5. S$40 miscellaneous (purchase of B/w polarids, films etc)

Why is this shoot cheaper than what most others charge?
Coz photographers attending are expected to give their best images to Edina for her portfolio.
Also, it's a PIO. i.e. those who learnt studio lighting in this session are expected to conduct similiar PIOs to teach others.

and Yes.... there's no professional make-up artist to help in this shoot. This is another reason why it's cheaper.

This leads to...

There's a Catch!
Lance will be the one applying make-up to the model. He will be putting what he learns in
the professional make-up course he's studying now. It's partly sponsored by fellow offstoners. You can contribute to that sponsorship too :>

So you gotta bear with Lance's beginner standards in make-up.

To sign up for this course or to read more details, pls hop on to

There's five photographers from Offstone who have already signed up... so just five vacancies left now.
