Wheres 24 f/1.8g? :(

I think 24mm 1.8G they won't announce it.

Cause the 20 & 24mm still have f2.8G version.

Just hope the new 18mm f1.8G

Right now got DX & FX bodies so they have to consider the consume needed.

But 28mm 1.8 in the DX body = 42mm and much widen than 35mm 1.8DX.

Hope it to be much useful on both bodies.

Yea I'm definitely going to get a copy.

Any idea when this will be available in singapore?
How long does it normally take between the lens being announced and it's availability in Singapore?

i agree with you that its well suited for both DX and FX bodies. I may just sell my 35mm f1.8 DX to get this.. heheheh

With new product releases a lot of attention were usually on the bodies but most of the time while I was interested I wasn't excited because digital bodies are a high priced item that depreciates fast.

I am always excited about better and better glass. The glass over body rule had not changed and I think this time Nikon have a winner here:

It is also rather odd for them to release a relatively fast 28mm prime for FX at a much cheaper price than the 24mm 1.4 and the 35mm 1.4 because 28mm being a versatile focal length compromising between 24 and 35 is probably going to eat into some 24 and 35 sales.

for your work, what kind of shots would you use the 28 for?

Available light and non-flash situations; interiors and wide scenes, portraits, close in candids.

Watching out on its performance in regards to distortion.

2818 buy 4D now!!

hahah, it's a pretty sweet lens with the reasonable price. Cheapest Lens with Nano coat!

Just struck TOTO. Waiting for this lens :) Ideal match with the 85mm f1.8g. The IQ for the 85 is superb, think this will be the same for these new lens. Nikon is getting better & better in the game

Having come from the Canon camp, I hope this lens will not disappoint like its Canon's counterpart. Fingers crossed....
