About OCBC Cycling Singapore
OCBC Cycle Singapore 2009 will be Singapore first's mass participation cycling event on public roads catering for every cyclist from begineer to professional. The event seeks to inspire all generations of men and women to exprience cycling as a form of recreation and fitness. With four distance options, OCBC Cycle Singapore will accomodate all level of riders and give the public an unique opportunity to cycle on fully closed roads all around Singapore.
Catergories will feature individual and team enteris and the route will take participants through the streets and iconic landmarks of Singapore such as the National Stadium, the Singapore Flyer and the F1 Pit Building
The event is also committed to promote safe cycling in Singapore and hopes and to contribute to developing Singapore as a growing sportiong nation.
Schedule And Routes
The Super Challenge - 50 km departing at 6.30am
Start and finish at the F1 Pit Building and reaching out along Republic Avenue, Nicholl Highway, East Coast, Changi Coast Road and returning on the same route
The Challenge - 40 km departing at 8.00am
Start and finish at the F1 Pit Building and reaching out along Republic Avenue, Nicholl Highway, East Coast and returning on the same route
The Community Ride - 20 km departing at 9.00am
Similar to 40km but turning earlier on East Coast
Mighty Savers Kids Ride - 5km departing at 11.00am
Start and finish at the F1 Pit Building and covering an "out and back" loop on Nicoll Highway
Ladies' Open Criterium departing at 12.00pm
An approximate 2km circuit starting at the F1 Pit Building
Masters' Criterium departing at 1.00pm
An approximate 2km circuit starting at the F1 Pit Building
Men's Open Criterium departing at 2.00pm
An approximate 2km circuit starting at the F1 Pit Building
Elite Criterium departing at 4.00pm
An approximate 2km circuit starting at the F1 Pit Building
