hey ppl,

for biz course...in your opinion...is nus better or ntu?

Business covers marketing, finance, management....and it is a matter of specialisation. For Banking try NTU for eg

ntu, nus wats the diff, they r just institutions offering courses, the important quetion is wat value can u contribute n get when u step into the society.

if u have no clear path of where u like to be, u go to MIT also no point rite.

consider SMU too. I heard it's quite active in getting positions for its top students.

friends, this site for photography la... alamak!
unless you are relating which school has prettier girls who are suitable for our photoshoot.
that will be considered relevant.
i'm sure the administrator would agree with me. :)

NTU! ;p
ok ok... I'm biased...
Go for NUS.

NTU really sucks. They can't even decide on whether they want to change their name to Nanyang University or not. From NTI to NTU, and prossible NU .. Unless you want to face the dilemma of whether your degree will be recognise" by your future employer or further education instititues, then go for NTU.

Business-course wise, NUS offers business administration and the option to do honours year. NTU offer direct honours and offer of specialisation e.g. marketing. Am I right?

Graduate of NTU (1999)

I'll cast a second vote for SMU.
I'll have to agree with you. I can't help but be slowly convinced that SMU has that X-factor. Yeap, it's a new entry for tertiary education, may not be well recongnised, blah balh blah.. But somehow I noticed that SMU graduates tend to be more outspoken.. Maybe it's due to their american-oriented education methods etc. But the few SMU guys/gals whom I know, just make me think that generally they are good.

Damn. NTU sucks, that's all I can comment.

haha, i will decide by location :bsmilie:

if you stay in the east and go to NTU, good luck

but from what i know if you are into engin... NTU has more pratical lessons while NUS have more theory lessons...

Business and finance can consider SMU

Err bro, this section is Kopitiam....coffeeshop talk...

Bout NTU changing their name, I don't see how it affects, unless your future employer or education institution doesn't read the news.. :dunno:

Haha.. Thanks for the offer. I knew they dropped the idea to change to "NU" some time back. But you never know when they would stir up another stupid stint like this in future.. Haha..

OK, I'll take back my sentence that "NTU sucks" if it offend anybody. However I still think NUS is better. Perhaps the grass is always greener on the other side? :D

i tink the catch is on the 4yrs or 3yrs tat u can get honours...

Whichever place you choose, make sure you don't regret on your choice later on. I really can't stand it whenever the undergrads here start whining and complaining about how bad the school, the system, the lectures, the environment is... So, once you make the choice live with it!

Anyway, there's really no way anyone gonna give you concrete advice as to which is better, since I really doubt that there's anyone who'd took a BA at both NUS and NTU. Rather than asking which is better, why not break it down to factors that you like or don't like about each of the institution. Talk to people who are there on more concrete matters, like how friendly the lecturers are, how are the modules constructed, what are the requirements, how transparent is the system, the rate of drop-outs in certain course, etc. etc. Asking which is better, frankly, serves nothing. I mean, I could tell you a thosand and one things that's wrong with the institution that I'm in right now, but I would still say that this is the better place than any other!!

Goodness.... NTU sucks because she can't decide to change their name??? It seems that you do not understand the circumstances behind the name change and why the change is DELAYED till NTU becomes a full comprehensive university, not laid down.

Business courses in NTU are 3 years in length, not so sure if it's direct honours.

BTW, I  NTU! Graduating soon, going to miss this place.

Stay in hostel and escape from the clutches of your parents.... isn't that better? Gain some "independence" :D

NUS is better in rank, i believe near the top 10 in Asia??? NTU is number 40 to 50.

But how come NTU graduates continue to command higher salaries of around $2500 per month?

Theory and exams are not everything. It's the other qualities of the NTU graduates that make them successful in the job market.
