After taking some photos outside at Aperture F/32, I notice couple of black dots on those photos..
Are they most likely be dust spots or dead pixels ? :(
Attached is a sample of the dots..

If they are just dust spots, any one knows how long will it take for me to get them cleaned off at canon service centre ? Do I have to leave my camera there and collect it a few days later ? How abt if they are dead pixels, will canon do something about it if it is still under warranty ? Thanks a lot !

looks like dust to me... see if you can cleant he sensor yourself or blow the dust away with a blower. If you dun trust yourself to do it, you can send in to Canon for sensor cleaning. usually will take a few days depending on the workload as there only 1 - 2 guys there specialised in cleaning CCD sensors.

If dead pixel, you can take the warranty card to Canon and request for a change of unit or replace the CCD.

Cheerz! :)

Oic.. So I can just bring the camera to harbourfront canon service centre, and ask them to check if it is dust or dead pixels.. I tried to use a blower to blow before but the dots are still there.. or maybe my blower not strong enough... Thanks SniperD ! :)

Really ? any idea how much does it cost to clean ? Thanks

$20 at Canon Service Centre at HabourFront

OT:canon uses cmos and not ccd right? :p

is this at cck?? he he

Just want to reconfirm.

Cleaning of CMOS will cost $20, even if camera is under warrenty? So do you have to produce warrenty if you want to clean the CMOS, or just bring the camera can liao? Some of us haven't fill in the warrenty card.

Does the $20 include cleaning of the mirror also?

How come all this not under warrenty? :dunno:
