The larger two of the three model aircraft has been positively identified as a SKY-09P model aircraft manufactured by Taiyuan Navigation Friend Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. based in the namesake capital of Shanxi province, Taiyuan City and outfitted additionally with an exhaust muffler.

The other type of model aircraft found equipped with a Nikon D800 full-frame professional DSLR that went down over the Island of Baengnyeong on the 31st of March 2014 during an artillery engagement whereby howitzers from both sides of the northern limit maritime demarcation line (NLL) traded artillery exchanges with close to almost 800 rounds of howitzer shells has been positively identified as an UV10 (CAM) UAS / UAV manufactured by Microfly Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. based in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA).Interchangeable and modular remote sensing payload (Electro-Optics / Infrared (EO / IR) imaging turret, hyperspectral imaging etc. etc.) for the purpose of enabling commercial geological surveying (geosurvey) and also military Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications. Global Positioning System (GPS) flight plan analysis by South Koran digital forensic has confirmed the launch point or take-off locations of all three crashed model aircraft having been originated from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) [01] [02] [03].
Not wanting to be outdone, the Republic of Korea (RoK) Armed Forces promptly crashed a Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) RQ-101 "Duck Hawk" (otherwise known as the "Night Intruder 300" / "Peregrine Falcon") tactical reconnaissance Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) also previously classified as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) into a mountain side near Yangju, Gyeonggi Province while on approach towards Seoul Air Base (SAB / RKSM) for a landing on the 1st of May 2014 [01] [02] [03].

If they could have succeeded with over South Korea with aircraft we were flying in Singapore aeromodelling club some 20-30 year ago tells you all you need to know about how advance they think they are compared to flying drone tech f today.
"Internal Combustion" heee... fancy name for a simple single stroke engine with a tune pipe (you can buy in Singapore for a few hundred dollars) that if engine fail will not restart in mid air. Craft can't even be flown outside of visual range of the people controlling it unles they made some GPS position device. And most likely with a remote controller signal band most aircraft tower or military will detect the moment it is switched on.
Does Canon need business this much to sell their products to this evil nation or they stole that from a illegal tourist they capture? hehehe Like comparing apple to oranges looking at what South Korea has developed.

It is hard to believe that a country that could fire a missile with nuclear warhead thousand of KM away (not many country could do that) is unable to assemble an unmanned plane. Even Singapore has it.
Would mounting a DSLR be easier than simply having a video recorder since you are recording video? Where did all these 'news' come from?
Even if they need to buy, such technology or the basic system are not difficult. Just send a guy out over to a friendly neighboring country to pick it up and bring home. Why bother to make one? No North Korean leave the country at all?
