Nokia Pureview 808 with 41mpix camera

It's a pity that its running on symbian

Wow! This is surely a threat for the Nikon's D800 puny 36mp! 41mp handphone cam... released the same time too! what would they think of next? interchangeable lens for handphone?

...... what would they think of next? interchangeable lens for handphone?

You got a great idea. Should patent it. Maybe not interchangeable. But auxiliary lens that you slide or clip into position on top of the existing handphone lens is a possibility. Particularly for telephoto or super wide angle attachments. You know, like the additional attachments they used to make for Yashica Electro 35. Most handphone lenses can handle close-up shots on their own. So maybe a super micro auxiliary lens that allow the handphone to take microscopic pictures - for example, 50x magnification.

That is already on the market isn't it? For iPhone there is this interchangeable lens system that comes with a casing to mount it.

Haa...since Nokia is so good in designing/making mobile phones camera modules. They should adopt the Ricoh GXR interchangeable camera module system for their flagship camera phones.
Even Olympus is starting to be "afraid" :D

Singtel will offer it for a high price, I bet. At least as high as a bottom end DSLR or M4/3 camera. Boo (in advance).

Then wait for the price to drop, once they realise that nobody is buying these things.
