No Power - 7D Mark II

Hi all, need some advice.

My 7d mark ii suddenly died on me last Saturday, was using the camera for about 1 hour plus taking photos and videos with a fully charged battery when the camera suddenly had no power. Tried switching it on/off several times plus replacing with another fully charged battery but no success.

Can anybody provide some advice on the possible cause and if it can be self rectified or do I need to bring it to the service center. The camera is slightly more than a year old

Power problems for this model (also mk1) are fairly common judging by the search results.Here is an interesting one solved but it's mk1.

Update: I finally bit the bullet and sent it into canon for repair. $400 later, it had a bad rear LCD screen and the cf reader pins were bent. Parts were about 135 and around 220 for labor costs. (then tax and return shipping) . Should be getting it back this week.
