I have just tuned in to channel u and was terribly upset to realise that there is no more guess guess guess?

anyone knows if it has been rescheduled to another time slot, or permanently taken off?

If they take away all the Taiwanese variety shows then no one will be able to see how they copies their ideas and reproduce it on their own lame variety shows mah... Hahaha.

I've seen some of the strangest things on Mediacorps TV, the one I really can't stand are those trailers for the PSC Nite. The show is okay, but why do they have to get the hosts to wear funny costumes and say not-so-funny ridiculous lines on TV. It's sort of quite out of point. It's good to be not-so-serious for variety show, but it doesn't been you have to be irrevelant.

IMO, they will make Channel U programs crappy and force the viewership to rock bottom.. then announce "Closure of Channel U due to poor viewership".. Why pay double running cost for a same group of crowd?

There's a strong possibility for that. Company will not want to pay ad dollars for low viewership

when there were Channel i and u, i believe a lot of us were happier coz there were some competition and more choices and though the local programs were mostly craps, we DID enjoy them after a hard day work in the office. But now, i dont even bother to watch local except #6, 10,11,12,13,14,15,17, etc.....
I think it's a very wrong move to allow them to merge ... the gov should encourage more investors (even foreigners) and make them compete for more QUALITY stuff, but again, Sg market size is so pathetic.
I think we are going to see the same thing happens to the "casino discussion".

And I am not sure why they are still broadcasting the "Pi Li Huo" which is so draggy and irritating but yet took away the Guess x 3 which is so funny and relaxing to watch?

Now that you feel so lostless especially during weekends when you are staying at home and have nothing to watch.

And the worst part is that they kept repeating/advertising albums/songs over and over again. (Example: Chai chuan jia's album...of the "wan mei nu ren")

Quite hard to satisfy everyone though. :dunno:

hey dudes, don't bother watching the taiwanese variety shows shown in sg... it sucks, all the nice hokkien jokes were cut.... Download the fresh, uncut episodes from BT better...

I stopped watching local TV for nearly a year now. Never missed anything. Local TV = CRAP, but i do enjoy the occasional parliament 'debate'.. very amusing
