arlo fellow macro-lovers...

would like to find out more abt Nikon's 3T, 4T, 5T n 6T close-up filters...

read the instruction sheet of a 6T n it states tat it works best on tele-lens...

was wonderin' whether will it work with my Tamron 90mm Di?

or jus get a Hoya close-up filter will do the same comparin' the big difference in prices...

hope u guyz can help me...thx!

How much do each of these filters usually retail for ? I understand that 4T is 52mm, and 6T is 62mm, but magnification wise, are they the same ?

3T n 4T ard $40 - $50...5T n 6T ard $60 - $70...

6T is stronger than 5T n 4T is stronger than 3T...

where to buy these filters? have a hard time finding them
do you all mean that 4t only come in 52mm?

3T n 4T 52mm...5T n 6T 62mm...

so anyone usin' them with Macro lenses?

or they r for tele-lenses?

I have a 105mm macro and I am also thinking of using one of these lenses.
Anyone know which one works best for my lens?

Thanks

jus got some help frm my fren...

these close-up filters (nikon 3T, 4T, 5T, 6T n canon 250D, 500D) r mainly for tele-lenses tat cannot do macro / close-up...

so i guess nothin' beats a true macro lens...

but really no idea how it would turn out if they r fitted on a macro lens...

oso...dunno watz the main diff between these filters n Hoya + filters apart frm the prices...

maybe a betta "in-focus" area cos Hoya + filters reduced the focused-area a lot or maybe jus betta glass with coatings?

Hoya + filters are single glass element filters, they tend to be a bit blur at the edges, the Nikon and Canon filters are 2 glass element filters which will give image quality.

Just called up TK Photos today... they are selling both the 5T and 6T at $75...

But now kinda in a :dunno: , dunno whether to get the 5T or the 6T.

Any suggestions/comments?

Thanks!

3T and 5T are +1.5 diopters
4T and 6T are +3 diopters

The 4T and 6T are stronger in terms of magnification.

And they work great on macro lenses. ;)
