To me the 70-200 should be classed as a archfiend rather than archangel.
It is the only one amongst the three that doesn't have an aperture ring.:nono:

The 80-200 AFS was one of the original trio of AFS Nikkor-zoom lenses.

no apature ring so wat?

who uses a afs70-200vr on prehistoric film bodies where the afs and vr dont work?

This trinity is good only for film bodies... in the digital age, you might want to consider a new set of trinity:

AFS 12-24mm
AFS 17-55mm
AFS 70-200mm

:)

I'd give a slight OT here, trinity means a set of three.

Holy Trinity refers to the Father, Son, Holy ghost in Christianity context. So guys, don't mix it up and get a PM from the mods/admins about religious discussion/desecration ;)

Excuse me, lots of people do.
Do you really need AFS and VR to take photos? If you do, then I feel very sorry for you.

I'd stand with you with this question.

Time to forget about getting a AI-S 500 f/4 :(

AFS doesnt work on film bodies? F5 is pretty old, and I believe it still can use AFS lenses.
