Nikon SB with bounce card extended = Metz flash with secondary reflector?

Do they function similarly since the purpose is to provide extra illumination to fill-in shadows?

e.g. of Metz flash with secondary reflector: Metz 54MZ3, 40MZ3, etc.

a secondary reflector will come in very good use when you are
taking vertical portrait shot-out.....flash bouncing off the ceiling.....
it will be able to light up those shadow below the chin and nose where the SB is unable to do it.....the bounce card is useless in here.......

The bounce card won't help when you are doing vertical shots, whereas the Metz fill flash will work in both vertical and landscape modes.
