Nikon Lens Silent Wave Motor Repair

I recently brought my Nikon 28-70 lens for repair and they informed me that the Silent Wave Motor was faulty, the second time since 2014. This time, I was quoted $832 for a replacement, which I find pretty exhorbitant (~30% the price of the lens). Does anyone know what can be done, or any 3rd party repair shop that can do the same job for less? Much appreciated. Thank you.
