Nikon F4 autofocus not accurate.

Hi Clubsnapper

Brought a 2nd Nikon F4 fim camera. Everthing works well, display a bit bleeding but it normal for F4, However it a bit annoying that I couldn't not get the auto focus to focus correctly, While the focus indicator show green but on the viewfinder is not in focus. I have adjusted the diopter correctly. Is there any trick to get it correctly focus. Any one have this experience before?

I would think that you might need some shims for the focus screen (or remove them, if present).

So how was it?

I can relate this.
Bought an F2 cheaply that seemingly cannot focus properly with the lens that i brought along to test right in front of the seller meant to cannibalise the body for parts.
He even assured me everything was OK except for focus.
Upon arriving home, removed the DP-11 and noticed the focusing screen was wrong side up.
Put it back correctly and it was able to focus perfectly.
Decided then and there to use it normally instead of for parts.
