With 50mm f1.2 AIS. Not really used to manual focusing but this lens produced very nice "cinematic" colours. First time using it.

Solely for my learning & understanding…u mentioned these shots taken by the 50mm f1.2 Ais lens has that nice cinematic colors, may I know are these shots taken out of the camera jpeg?
Did they go thru’ some basic post processing?

It's very subjective for me to make a comment like it looked "cinematic". Others may think differently. They just looked different from those photos I took with the D5300 and lenses like the 24mm f1.4, Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 and the 70-200mmf4 although all photos were processed similarly with Photoshop. No special add-on filters applied. Just for exposure and saturation adjustments. Photos are here:

Yes, Tomcat. I was there in 2008. The place has changed quite a bit especially the night scenery. If I have the time later will post those photos. Was told the town was flooded in April last year and the level of water reached 2 storeys high so the place had been "renovated" or restored. I read in another post that you and some guys down here are experts in using manual focus lenses so I was "inspired" by you all to try as well. Hope to improve with more practice.

Some night scenes taken with the 24mm f1.4
It was almost pitch dark here. It rained the whole day and when it stopped at 9.30pm, we rushed out hurriedly and none of us remember to bring a torch light. My friend fell waist deep into the river further down but fortunately, it was at the place where you board the boats for the river tour. His D7100 and one week old 28mm f1.8 went into the water-gone case!

I was there in 2008. Seems like they have improved the lighting of the buildings at night since. Fenghuang is one of two ancient towns that I liked the most. The other one is Wuzhen water town which is even better lit though it is more commercialised and less authentic as the buildings there are all restored and are operated like a theme park.
