Hello, I' d like to buy a camera for portrait photography. I've found that Nikon D3500 has the score 83 for it, and it's in the top 10. https://cameravs.com/Nikon-D3500 Has anybody made portraits with it?
Probably millions created millions of portrait pictures with D3500. The camera is not the key here, but the lens. While the kit lens is ok for a start, using a fast prime of 50mm or longer will usually help you to create better looking pictures. Do read up abut the basics of portrait photography, hardly anybody talks about the camera body.
