The zoom power of the COOLPIX P900 is nothing short of spectacular. This is 83x (2000mm equivalent) optical zoom—more than any Nikon COOLPIX yet. Advanced shooters will appreciate the outstanding image quality and DSLR styling—a sure grip, a swiveling Vari-angle display, a high-resolution Electronic Viewfinder that turns on automatically when lifted to your eye, even a PSAM mode control dial. Those who simply want great photos and Full HD videos without any fuss will appreciate the point-and-shoot ease and long battery life—up to 360 shots per charge! And everyone will appreciate the built-in Wi-Fi® and Near Field Communication technology (NFC)** connectivity which wirelessly connects the COOLPIX P900 to a compatible smartphone or tablet for instant photo sharing and remote camera control. Change the way you see, capture and share the world.

Got a quick hands on at the shop today. Shot it wide, then zoomed it in a bit, and then zoomed in all the way and shot something across the mall, and on the back of a sign in the shop.

Note that this was very quick and dirty, and was done handheld. Flickr has the full rez image/exif.

Nikon P900 Test Shot - Wide

Nikon P900 Test Shot - Medium

Nikon P900 Test Shot - Tele (Far)

Nikon P900 Test Shot - Tele (near)

As a quick review - this guy is huge, and quite heavy for a bridge camera. The zooming is very slow too.. it took a good 5-10sec to zoom from wide to tele end. The VR is decent, and if shot with the EVF (camera on face) its quite possible to do shots without a tripod even indoors. It should be a breeze to shoot outdoors.

Price was $7xx. Was told someone snapped up one piece within hours of stock arriving. (There's still stock)

Would you mind telling me where you saw it? I have been searching online to find a store that sells it in Singapore and none of them sell it yet. I'll be in Singapore next week and I want to buy it while there, because it's absolutely not possible to buy it where I live here in Bali, even though I heard this camera is actually made in Indonesia! Would be great if you could tell me the store name, thanks!

The pictures above appears to be taken at Tk Foto, 2nd lvl, Funan shopping mall.

This ultrazoom bridge camera looks like a keeper :)

Put it on a tripod or with good light, it gets good shots. I find the best quality is at around 1200-1500mm. ISO performance is decent too.

The 7 frame burst mode is very handy, with the evf-lag being quite bearable when you burst. Writing speed is bit slow though (Its jpg only, and i'm using a 95mbit/sec card)

Took this earlier with arm supported on my bike at 2000mm (max optical zoom)

...at 2000mm, it's very sensitive to the slightest vibration...alternatively can use wifi connectivity with smart phone to release shutter.

Nice shots ! Did you post process or was it straight out of camera ? I'm still not able to get the nice saturated colors out of camera with my tele shots

Thanks! Not used to no raw. I had used the defaults in aperture prority :p

...ok,occasionally may have to adjust minimally on colour balancing,
