this morning when i checked my facebook, Nikon Asia announced a photo contest entry winner

Facebook Nikon Asia

1. The subject was being manhandled, you can see how tightly the diver is grabbing the poor octopus.

2. the photo is underexposed, and badly taken or even edited

3. there is 6925 other photos, some are very well taken, and yet this crap photo was choosen to be the winner.

4. When asked, they said the winner is randomly choosen.

I guess the people in Nikon asia, has no regards to what the photographer is doing to the environment or the animals.

By selecting randomly, they have shown no respect to any photographer, regardless if he/she is using a Nikon or not.

If you want, do a good job, don't randomly choose.

Someone at Nikon can you do something about this?

:thumbsd::thumbsd: photography is to capture that moment in free spirit. that octopus is not your pet. it could have retaliate and worse injure humans just for the sake of capturing that moment.

Not that I support that photographer in anyway whatsoever but it is possible for both of the subjects to maintain neutral buoyancy in an underwater environment so technically speaking the female diver is simply holding on to one of the arms of the octopus and not dangling it, whether the octopus is struggling to break free remained to be seen.

Let's not simply jump to conclusions, shall we?
