Nikon are back strong in Olympics

For anyone watching the Olympics, one must have seen now there're a lot more black lens than before... MKIII really f**ked Canon...

Canon also screwed Canon by finally NOT admitting that there still was a problem with the AF.

Real pity about the Mk III - it was such a promising body.

Also, any other pictures of photographers at the 2008 Olympics, preferably a much larger cross-section? That looks like only a minuscule sampling.

It was a marketing strategy in the past by Canon....see their EF lens book...1st page already show a picture where rows of white lenses dominate at sporting events...now doesn't seem to be the case anymore...looks like 50-50 btw Canon and Nikon.

I don't think Canon didn't admit there was a problem with the AF... they did spend quite abit of effort trying to rectify it... they just tried to downplay it as much as they can... can read about it here, but warning, its a long drawn saga (ie. the article is very long...)

Ah, now perhaps it may be time for me to consider the 200-400 f/4 VR.... maybe a nice D300/D700 to go with it would be good too.

unfortunately, that might not be so true. if canon sees nikon as a threat, they would have reacted after D200 was out.

I see a return to a phrase 'nikon is a photographer's company; canon is a marketing company'.
