NIKON UT-1 OPENS NEW NETWORKING POSSIBILITIES FOR EXISTING NIKON ENTHUSIAST AND PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS
The New Nikon UT-1 greatly increases image transfer efficiency for existing Nikon photographers by seamlessly connecting DSLR cameras to computers and servers
TOKYO, 13 SEPTEMBER 2012 - Nikon Corporation today announced the new UT-1 unit to enhance the ease of remote control and image transfers especially for professional on- site and studio photographers, by connecting supported Nikon DSLR cameras via wired Ethernet to computers or FTP servers. Attaching the Wireless Transmitter WT-5 to the top of the Nikon UT-1 will add wireless networking capabilities.
The UT-1 is compatible with the Nikon D4, D800, D800E and D7000 DSLR cameras. Via an Ethernet wired network connection, still images can be automatically transferred as they are captured. Still images and movies already stored on a memory card can be transferred and saved to a computer or an FTP server. In addition, when the Wireless Transmitter WT-5 is connected to the UT-1, users can transfer images easily via a wireless network. Nikon plans to market a UT-1/Wireless Transmitter WT-5 bundle.
Adding the WT-5 enables advanced features such as HTTP Server which allows the Nikon D800/D800E cameras to be controlled from a smartphone or tablet without any added software via their in-built web browser.
When used in conjunction with the Camera Control Pro 2 software developed for studio and field photography (available separately), users can remotely control a wide variety of Nikon digital-SLR camera functions via a computer. Camera Control Pro 2 allows users to specify and adjust basic shooting settings such as exposure mode, shutter speed and aperture setting, as well as control advanced functions such as white balance, live view photography and the recording of movies.
With the ability to remotely control camera operations and with images being transferred directly to a computer, photos can be verified and quality control or printing can be carried out immediately.

The Wireless Mobile Adapter WU-1a and WU-1b can be used to easily transfer high- quality images captured with cameras such as the Nikon D3200 and Nikon D600 to a smartphone, or to control the camera remotely. Also, the Nikon S800c allows users to wirelessly connect to the Internet using an interface that is similar to those on smartphones.

5. Superior Handling For Efficient Studio And Field Photography
The UT-1 can be mounted on the camera's accessory shoe or on a tripod. When another accessory, such as a Speedlight, is mounted on the accessory shoe, the camera and UT-1 can be conveniently mounted on a tripod using the optional SK-7 bracket.
