Nikon 8400 vs olympus 7070

Has anyone used both the 8400 and olympus 7070? How do they compare? Is the EVF on the 8400 a cause for concern? I think I would prefer an optical one... Well, I've read lengthy reviews online for both but I still can't quite decide.

I'm migrating from my EOS 5 to digital and I don't really want to lug along a digital SLR when travelling, etc. Or am I better off with the 350D since I've a Canon system?

Anyone has the latest price for the 8400 and 7070? Can PM me? Thanks!

why dont you consider getting the pro1 if you are seriously thinking of getting a PnS digicam? there's a chance that you will be able to reuse stuff like your canon flash if you have one...

however, i think there is very little difference in travelling with a semi-pro style digicam like the pro1, c7070 or the 8400 vs using a dslr like a 350d. both types of camera are hardly pocketable (the c7070 is possible in a large jacket though) and the 350d with the 17-85 lens is an excellent piece of kit for travelling...

I would prefer the Nikon 8400.
One of the nice feature is the super wide angle (the widest among the prosumer camera), and excellent image quality. :thumbsup:

Get the canon 350D and the 17-85mm IS ! (not the 18-55mm non-IS)
they make a good small and light pair.
