nikon 70-300vr autofocus

was wondering about the focus on this lens... it's really noisy, like it's constantly refocusing. is this normal? but i did notice that it only does this if it's something that takes constant focusing, like with something that's moving or something that doesn't have enough contrast... and it happens when i have it on continuous focus. the speed seems ok, im just worried that it sounds abnormally loud.. thanks!

Are you shure its the foucus and not the VR that is making the noise.
I can hear ( and feel) the VR function constantly making small asjustments when
I use this lens. The focus seem fast and solid . Also , check you camera and see if you have focus lock on or off. Might try it with focus lock on and see if you like better.

try focus far object...i forgot the minimum focus distance, but sure the VR making some noise & not loud
