Any reviews on these two cameras I am narrowing down my search of cams.

g2 is discontinued i thought.. i wtd a g2 last yr.. but i told myself a better one will be out..
now i am making my buy. but still unsure.. of the camera.. a budget i can come out with but the camera has to suit.

You can always get a 2nd-hand G2...prices are quite reasonable, i've seen a few go for $800.
A newer model need not necessarily be better than its predecessor.

but with the newer batt life n a newer chip + a better zoom..
hmm..
wt do i have to do to increase the zoom length ?

g3 still has a problem which is the viewfinder n the increased viewing area..

Get a teleconvertor to increase the focal range. They range from 1.5x to 2x.

The battery life of the 5700 is an issue, because of the EVF, and focusing in low light conditions is really a problem. There's no AF assist light, and it can't utilize external flash AF-assist, so there's nothing much you can do about it. To make things worse, manual focus SUCKS, because you can't see a thing through the EVF. Upping the ISO will help a bit though, but well... it's one of the reasons why I sold it.

If you do alot of shooting in low light situations, forget it. Get the G3. Otherwise, it's a great camera. Check out my galleries.
